Corey Bocking

Corey Bocking AEP, BEd. Bsc. M. Coach Education


Corey is the founder of PTI, Corey has worked with athlete’s of all ages and abilities, ranging from local club athletes through to State, National, International and Olympic and Professional athletes from a variety of sports including Boxing, Swimming, AFL, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Athletics, Shooting, Triathlon, Touch Football, Hockey, Judo and Basketball. Corey has recently been responsible for helping a group of young athletes to the fourth highest ranked team in twenty20 cricket. Corey has not only worked with some of the world best athlete’s he has also worked with 1000’s of everyday people helping them to achieve their personal health and fitness goals.

With his background in high performance coaching and business development Corey understands what it takes for people to get the most out of themselves. Corey regularly works some of the world best coaches and this experience has formed the basis of all PTI courses.

Corey is passionate about educating others and enabling them to fulfill their potential as athletes, trainers and coaches.
Jock Campbell

B Sc, Assoc Dip Applied Sports Coaching, Diploma of Nutrition (IOC)


Jock Campbell is a leading world expert on physical performance, health, recovery and the traveling athlete. Jock has spent the past 20 years perfecting and implementing the science and practicalities of performance - through university and industry qualifications, to training elite athletes in many different sports and performing in high level sport and then transferring this knowledge and experience to Olympic athletes, national sporting teams and the general population.

From November 2000 until November 2005 Jock was the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach/ Physical Performance Manager for the Australian Cricket Team. During this period the Team was World Champions in both Test Match (No. 1 in Test rankings) and One Day Cricket (World Cup winners 2003 and No.1 in World rankings); it was the most successful period in the team’s history. This culminated in the Team being voted Number One team in the World, (in any sport) at the Prestigious Loreus Awards in 2003. During the 2004/05 season the Team also had its lowest percentage of injuries in recorded history! He has also worked with the NSW Cricket Team, Olympic athletes and gold medal performers in surf lifesaving, track and field, swimming, rugby league, rugby union, wrestling, gladiators, karate, boxing, netball and kendo. As a co-founder of Jock Athletic, he is active in the community and has a genuine passion to spread the health, fitness and physical performance message.


Paul Watson

B Sc, NSCA, Assoc Dip Applied Science, M. Ed, Assoc Dip Management


Paul has been an Rugby League strength and conditioning coach for 13 years both in Australia and the U.K this included being the Strength and Conditioning Coach, for the 1997 Australian Super League Team. In the National Rugby League Paul worked for the Cronulla Sharks and Penrith Panthers, during this time he was part of the premiership winning team at Penrith in 2003.

Over the course of his career he has also trained professional, Olympic, national, and international competitors and medalists in track and field, rugby league, rugby union, hockey, soccer, boxing, kick boxing, netball, triathlon, surfing, surf life saving and swimming. Paul is renowned for his Saturday morning sand hill sessions at Wanda and for his enthusiasm and passion for life, health and overall wellbeing. Paul Watson is a living testament to the health and fitness lifestyle. His vision and mission is to become a source of inspiration to others through health, fitness, knowledge, enthusiasm and optimism.


Robert Leslie

B.Sc. Exercise Science / B.Com Management


Rob has over 10 years experience in the fitness industry and has worked throughout Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom.Rob has a background in Rugby Union and is a former nationally ranked Olympic Weight Lifter. He is an Australian Strength & Conditioning Association strength and conditioning coach and has worked with the Cronulla Sharks strength and conditioning team.

Rob currently runs a very successful exercise physiology and personal training business through Fitness First Cronulla and was formerly a Cluster Personal Training Manager with Fitness First.


Tony Merrick


Tony is experienced in the areas of leadership training; business development strategies; the establishment of health and fitness programs; personal training and individual and class instruction. Since May 2002, Tony traveled regularly to international locations to provide instructor training and business strategy workshops on behalf of Star Trac USA and Fitness First - Australia.

Most recently, he has returned from Germany where he was placed in the role of National Fitness Manager, provided training and development to Directors and gym managers in over 300 Fitness First clubs. Along the way Tony has supported and trained gym owners and industry professionals in Bangladesh, Surabaya, Beirut, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Kuwait giving a well rounded and appreciated view of different cultures and their lifestyles.

Tony Merrick is the Managing Director and Founder for Peak Body Performance where he is responsible for recruiting and managing the professional development of 10+ Performance Coaches in both Western Australia, Victoria.


Dale Kalnis


Joined Royal Australian Navy and served for 6 ½. 1985 began training in Zen-Do-Kai freestyle karate, attaining 2nd Degree Black Belt. Qualified as Personal Trainer in 1989 and have been working as such continuously ever since.Dale has also, on occasion, been variously employed as a doorman, stuntman (on the movie Two Hands), personal security and sparring partner.

Dale has worked with many high profile clients including; Russell Crowe (actor), Heath Ledger (actor), David Hasselhof (actor), Mariska Hargaty (actor- Law & Order SVU), Aaron Jeffrey (actor- McLeods Daughters), Jon Stevens (singer- Noiseworks, INXS), Wayne Cooper (fashion designer), Lucy Turnbull (ex-Sydney Lord Mayor, wife of Federal Liberal Party leader) an was responsible training many personal trainers and coaches in the art of boxing and self defense.

Dale currently operates a very successful Personal Training business built around teaching boxing skills to his clients and is a presenter for the Performance Boxing courses.


Gairy St Clair


Gairy St Clair former IBO and IBF world champion. Gairy is a Performance Boxing Instructor; he is a very popular and entertaining instructor. Gairy conducts the popular mentoring program which will give you the insight into how professional boxers train and how you can use many of these methods with your athletes and personal training clients.


Leroy Lobo

Physiotherapist Bach App Sc (Phty) Visceral Therapist (VMT)


Leroy has spent time in the USA with professional basketball teams in the NBA including the San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Mavericks and the University of Texas Longhorns men’s basketball team in the NCAA. Whilst in the USA, Leroy also worked at John Newcombe’s tennis ranch in Austin Texas and then trained with leading manual therapists in New York to further complement the visceral techniques.

Leroy has recently developed a spinal and biomechanical screening program to comprehensively assess the contributing factors that could cause or perpetuate injuries in athletes. It has been composed following consultation with the Australian Institute of Sport and the National Academy of Sports Medicine in the U.S.A. Leroy has recently used this program to successfully rehabilitate players with chronic injuries in the AFL, as well as current 1st grade Rugby Union, NRL players as well as Commonwealth Games and Olympic level Australian Track and Field athletes. Leroy is currently lecturing corporations on the topics of Wellness and Sports Injury Prevention with the aim being to teach the “working athlete” how to reduce their risk of being injured whilst being physically active. This includes strategies to improve general well-being through proper nutrition, hydration and lifestyle modification.

Leroy has recently started research with the Spine Centre for Clinical Research Excellence (CCRE Spine) at the prestigious University of Queensland where he is now an associate staff member. Under the supervision of the Director of the Centre, Professor Paul Hodges, he is studying the control of the “Core Muscles” in patients with gastrointestinal issues. This is as a result of new research that has shown a strong link between gastrointestinal issues and back pain.


Paul Briggs


Paul Briggs has done a lot in his career, by the age of 19 he was a world champion kick boxer after retiring from kick boxing then turn his hand to boxing where he was the number 1 contender in the Light Heavy Weight division.

Paul is now a Personal Trainer, Boxing Coach and Strength and Conditioning consultant on the Gold Coast. Not surprisingly, Paul places great emphasis on the mental aspects of training, and is a very insightful trainer and technical specialist.


Angela Saville

B Ed (Physical & Health Education)


Owner/operator of Savvy Health & Fitness Training. Angela attended Wollongong University and graduated with a bachelor of Education in Physical and Health Education. Angela has worked within education and the fitness industry for over ten years as a group exercise instructor. She has attained her instructor certificate in boxing, numerous Les Mills programs, her CHISM certificate IV in Children & Adolescent and Pre & Post Pregnancy & Fitness certificate. Angela’s experience with working with some of Australia’s leading health and fitness professionals has enabled her to create some of the most innovative and effective programs. Angela is soon to feature is a book alongside 13 other leading health & fitness professionals and was recently awarded the 2009 ILLAWARRA YOUNG BUSINESS WOMAN OF THE YEAR.

BJ Rule

B.Sc Exercise Science


BJ is the educational director and along with his business partner Tommy Matthews the founding director of the Optimal Life Fitness Group. With over 13years of experience in the fitness industry BJ continues to advance his own learning as well as his ability to educate others in how to get the body performing better. He holds a BSc in Exercise Science, but also strives to ‘walk the walk’ and this is apparent in his own training where Weightlifting Boxing and Kettlebell Sport are his focus. As well as educating trainers BJ still trains clients who vary from executives to athletes.


Tommy R Matthews


Tommy’s skills and knowledge in Kettlebell training have come from years of working with some of the world’s greatest Kettlebell athletes and hours of his own training. He’s trained with arguably one of the greatest Kettlebell lifters ever, master of sport Valery Fedorenko and the all time great Pantelai Filikidi, who is master of sport in 4 different sports. Tommy is one of only 2 lifters in the UK to have completed the AKC certification. Before his work with the AKC in Greece he spent some time with Steve Cotter, which is where he developed his interest for Kettlebell sport. Tommy is the Managing Director of The Optimal Life Fitness Group.
